The overall message to JWs from the slave is to give to those who are like you (in this case Caleb's giving to his family). A better message would have been for the little boy to have helped an elderly non JW with some yard work.
Lots of non JW kids are trained early to help those less fortunate. But the witnesses don't want that getting out.
I think that arrogance and self righteousness is definitely palpable and has a feel to it. Absolutely.
truth does not need protecting, it can protect itself.
no knowledge is dangerous to what is true as what is true can never be proven otherwise.. .
ask questions, trust yourself, trust your motives as you will never know anothers, trust your reading and research.

a few weeks ago i posted a topic about a deaf woman studying with the jw's.
the deaf preacher from the woman's parents church contacted me to know more about the jw's because the parents were allowing their daughter to study with the jw's because "they are such nice people.
" anyway the deaf preacher contacted me because he knows i just left the jw's last year and he wanted information.. i was more than happy to provide it.
...i might drop in every now and then but i hope you all enjoy life, escape the watchtower(r) and live prosperous lives.. i can't say i contribute much here anyway (and i'm not attention seeking).. i'm just going to get on with life away from the constant reminder of the mistakes i made being a jw zombie drone.. i guess i'm just going to fade.......rather quickly.. of course i didn't need to make any posts here to disappear but i thought it'd be polite and very british to bid you all a fond farewell.. see you all sometime.....maybe.....maybe not.....maybe....... bye!.

i remember when i was a mind cleansed(tm) jw i would listen to the talks when i wasn't napping.. on the long tiring drive home i'd say how i ''enjoyed(tm)'' the sessions and felt ''encouraged(tm)''.. .....and yet i couldn't recall a single ''point(tm)'' made.
i couldn't remember what it was that actually made me feel good.. on one occasion i asked the family what they found ''encouraging(tm)'' or interesting.. tumble weed.

In this area, claims that a "prominent elder" had become a millionaire selling it was all that was needed to rope in about a hundred minions. When the JWs get a hold of something like this, it creates a bigger buzz than new light.

i have been lurking here for some time and i decided to start posting with this intro.. im from europe, both my parents are jw's, my parents are both teachers (math teachers).. my parents are "softcore" jw's, they accept all my questions and try to answer them.. i am trying to "convert" my dad (an elder which might complicate things), me and my dad recently had various discussions about the org ("discussions" on the good sense of the word).. we talked about jehovah in the nt, 1975, 1914, gb in 1st century, the cross, "new lights" ..., you know the usual stuff.. and all is going well i think, i think i can "convert" him until the end of summer.. i mean is a logical man, what can go wrong ?
